Houseparty is a synchronous video chat app. With a primarily teenage user base, our goal was to make conversations fun and easy. We believe they should feel like jumping in between rooms at a Houseparty.
My focus was creating fun and interesting interactions and growth for the app. I was able to hone my user research, designing with data, testing, and feedback loops at Houseparty. I was fortunate to work with an amazing product team and together we were able to be more definitive and scientific in our design and implementation.
In 2019 it was acquired by Epic Games.
Pre-acquisition we focused on growth and engagement. Post-acquisition and into the COVID-19 pandemic, we focused on our changing demographics and creating clarity in design.
